Where did you grow up?
I grew up in rural Pennsylvania in a beautiful, craftsman style house that my dad built. The house was under construction for my whole childhood, which left me feeling deeply attached to it and really proud of my dad’s work. We had the house and the story of its construction featured in a magazine before my parents sold it in 2024.
Do you have any pets?
I have two dogs who are my whole world! One is a mini–Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix named Manzi. She’s always full of over-the-top energy and excitement, which means she keeps us on our toes and is always ready for the next adventure. Our second dog was a stray who adopted us when he started showing up at our house to play with Manzi, and then one time decided to stick around. His name is Ooni, and he’s (thankfully) much more calm, relaxed, and snuggly than his big sister. They are adorable together and make a great pair!
How do you spend your free time?
I stay busy with a variety of hobbies that are relaxing for me, especially ones that allow me to be outside. I love to stay active with activities like climbing and hiking that let me take advantage of living near so many amazing places like Sedona and the Grand Canyon. I enjoy yard projects and have been on a years-long mission to remove all the invasive tumbleweed from our yard and reintroduce native species into our landscaping. I also get so much joy from taking care of our animals, which currently include 2 dogs, 14 chickens, and 2 beehives.
What's the best place you've ever visited?
My husband and I visited Scotland a few years ago and fell in love with the Highlands. We loved the scenery, the climbing and hiking, the people and food, and (coming from the desert) even the rain! We can’t wait to go back for another trip soon.
