ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
BrightLine Group is seeking to hire a part-time experienced Accounting Specialist. We’re looking for someone who is motivated, self-directed, and interested in helping our company run smoothly and efficiently. As a small and growing business, we need team members who are flexible and interested in contributing to the group in multiple and creative ways.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The part-time Accounting Specialist will use strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to support the CFO in performing the following duties:
- Overall responsibility for the daily, monthly, quarterly and year end accounting activities. This includes GL account journal entries and account reconciliation; entry and posting of all accounts payables, accounts receivables, and payroll data entry.
- Streamline, automate, develop, and implement best practice accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes when needed.
- Liaise with internal business partners and cross-functional teams to gather data, improve processes and support business needs.
- Support the external tax reporting and provide reporting schedules and requested information for the year end external tax and quarterly reviews.
- Support all system upgrades/implementation efforts.
- Support the monthly internal management reporting function including ad-hoc reporting.
- Perform other related job duties as needed, especially as company grows.
This position will be onsite in our Boulder, Colorado, office, though there is some flexibility to work from home on occasion.
This position is part-time, 20-30 hours per week, with potential for more hours as we grow.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Some experience with bookkeeping and consulting services.
- Technical accounting knowledge, including US GAAP.
- Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office Software tools
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Project accounting system experience (Unanet A/E, Unanet GovCon, Deltek, etc.)
- Experience in a small business with multi-state client engagements.
- Experience working within consulting firms.
