LAUREL JONES
Laurel Jones is an engineer with BrightLine Group with a strong interest in renewable energy and energy efficiency. During her time at the Mississippi State Industrial Assessment Center, Laurel performed energy assessments at industrial plants and commercial facilities across Mississippi to determine the different opportunities that a business can save energy and energy-related costs.

What was your first job?
My first job was shucking oysters and making flatbread pizzas for a local seafood restaurant. This was not particularly enjoyable because of my dislike of seafood.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Diamondhead, Mississippi, which is right on the coast. I was able to see the Gulf of Mexico from my kitchen window!
Do you have any pets?
My family and I rescued our dog Wilson in 2016! Ever since he has been the best companion a family could ask for!
How do you spend your free time?
I tend to spend a lot of my free time being around and flying hot air balloons! I have been around hot air balloons my whole life due to both of my parents being pilots. Currently I am working on getting my pilot’s license too!
